Freeman’s October 25 Modern and Contemporary Art auction features a fine selection of paintings, sculpture, prints, photographs, and drawings by many of the 20th century's most renowned artists. The sale is led by a number of remarkable canvases and works on paper: Kenneth Noland’s Silver Affair, Pablo Picasso’s Tête d'Homme Barbu, and Bernard Buffet's Plage de Bretagne. The October 25 auction showcases instantly iconic work by artists whose output has left a deep impression on the art world and the culture at large, from Yayoi Kusama works featuring her playful pumpkin motif to two Keith Haring subway signs and a number of important drawings and prints by Sigmar Polke and Andy Warhol. An elegant bronze by Lynn Chadwick, Winged Figures II, leads the sculpture selection of Modern and Contemporary Art, with additional offerings by Henri Matisse, Claes Oldenburg, Francisco Zúñiga, and Max Weber.
