“Josiah Wedgwood, Potter to her Majesty...makes it his constant endeavour to give to his manufacture all the variety and perfection he is able.”

Freeman’s is pleased to present All the Variety and Perfection: The Wedgwood Collection of Dr. Ellis F. Rubin & Suzanne Borow Rubin, an impressive and extensive personal collection of ceramics spanning the history of Wedgwood production from the 18th to the 21st centuries. The collection will be presented across multiple sales, the first of which will be held February 15. All the Variety and Perfection is led by an exemplary Bubbles II Malfrey pot from the firm’s Fairyland Lustre line, which has mesmerized and captivated collectors since it was first introduced more than a century ago. In addition to more than two dozen Fairyland Lustre pieces, the sale features early Wedgwood & Bentley creamware, Black Basalt, iconic Jasperware, and Art Deco designs by Keith Murray. Comprising both archetypical and rarely seen examples of Wedgwood production, All the Variety and Perfection will delight collectors of these highly sought-after designs and introduce new collectors to centuries of Wedgwood work.
