Pair of Italian renaissance style parquetry inlaid walnut folding or 'Dante' chairs
17th century and later

The seat and back of velvet, the back embroidered, both attached with large studs, the arms acanthus carved to the top and with carved rosettes to the sides, the whole parquetry inlaid in a zig-zag design and raised on sledge feet terminating in claws.

H: 35, W: 28, D: 23 in.
