Sarah Elizabeth Applegate married George Fenwick Cooper (1827-1904) in 1852. Cooper was a prosperous landowner, director of the Bank of Red Bank and held a number of positions in local government. Their daughter Eleanor, known as Ella (1854-1914) married Edward John Hopping (1853-1888) in 1876. After the early death of her husband, Ella moved with her two children to live with her parent's in their large Red Bank home. The flag was likely inherited by Ella who lived the last ten years of her life on West Front Street in Red Bank.
