Note
Henry Sacheverell was a celebrated preacher in the High Church of England. He is known most for a controversial sermon he presented in 1709 titled The Perils of False Brethren, which was viewed as directly opposing the Whigs. Although Sacheverell went on trial for the sermon, and ultimately was punished, he became a martyr among his fellow clergymen and the general public.
