The circular enameled dial painted with Roman hours and floral swags, within an urn-form case, surmounted by a figure of Cupid and ribbon and laurel leaf festoon mount above the dial, with twin laurel leaf wreath handles issuing similarly cast swags, raised by two classical maidens, on a shaped oblong base with rosettes and neoclassical trophy mounts, raised on toupie feet, the brass movement with oval stamp for Black Starr & Frost New York, impressed 897.
