William Barton (1754-1817), was a Pennsylvania lawyer, scholar, and co-designer of the Great Seal of the United States.
John Rhea Barton (1794-1871), was an innovative American orthopedic surgeon, and had the first surgical chair in the U.S. endowed in his name.
