Furniture scholar and dealer Albert Sack stated the significance of this table to the consignor, saying that the top's diameter reflects the size of the tree from which the solid slab of wood was sourced. He went further, contextualizing the table in relation to the Revolution-- "This table top probably sat in a parlor in Philadelphia when the Declaration of Independence was signed."
