Comprising four forks and four knives, with pseudo English hallmarks to handles, each terminal engraved with a dove with twig, the crest from a coat-of-arms associated with Mifflin family of Philadelphia; sold together with a Chinese Export silver and mother-of-pearl flatware set for twelve, possibly by Linchong, second quarter 19th century, comprising twelve butter knives and eleven forks, with monograms to handles, one knife engraved "Fanny", the knives with pseudo English hallmarks.

The crest of a dove with twig on a shaped reserve enclosing the initials "TM" was used on a Chinese Export porcelain service ordered by wealty Philadelphia merchant and politician Thomas Mifflin (1744-1800) and his wife Sarah Morris Mifflin (1747-1790).
