Painted to the well with a pair of putti supporting an armorial shield bearing the arms of Gonzaga impaling Este above a scroll below, the cavetto decorated in bianco sopra bianco with palmettes, the rim finely painted to depict the Isrealites gathering manna as described in Exodus 16:17, the underside painted with two concentric circles below the rim, and with old label "Rare Italian majolica, ca. 1600".
