O. Roy Chalk (b. June 7, 1907; d. December 1, 1995) was an important New York entrepreneur with several diverse holdings in transportation and real estate. Chalk is well remembered for his notable collection, including the 37.82 carat "Chalk Emerald" ring (now displayed at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History) and the Jean-Antoine Houdon 1789 plaster bust of Thomas Jefferson (now displayed at Monticello).
