Audubon’s watercolor. 38 1/8 x 25 5/8 in. (97 x 65 cm). Sheet lightly toned; light mat burn along outer plate mark; hand-coloring somewhat faded; wear along left edge, three short closed tears to same; short closed tear, bottom left edge, other scattered minor edge wear; soiling and spotting in margins. Plate XCIV from Audubon's The Birds of America (London, 1827-38). "Painting and plate depict one bird in front of an Eastern Prickly-pear. Audubon wrote on the painting: 'Great Egg Harbor, June 26.'
