Glazed earthenware, stoneware, metal fittings.
Transfer-printed Pearlware with a Parian Ware figural lid. Motto spiraling up the body, which is decorated with the heads of famous poets, "By the length of his beard can you measure a man? Poet or Hero? - I doubt if you can. Bearded or shaven - Wit comes from heaven."
Impressed "WEDGWOOD" and "PEARL". Printed "R REDGRAVE, ARA" and British registry marks.
