Artist Biography
Born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1954, Kiki Smith received her BFA from Hartford Art School. Smith uses a wide array of materials, including photography, drawings, and textiles to create a wide body of work that addressed the themes of birth and regeneration. She currently serves as an adjunct professor in the art department at NYU. Smith’s work appears in countless institutions such as Art in Embassies Program, US. Department of State, Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York, and the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris.
