A Chinese blanc de Chine Gu- form vase
the porcelain 17th/early 18th century

Raised on a low ring foot below the flared base, the neck with a delicate everted mouth rim. The midsection with four sharply molded vertical flanges separating a panel decorated with squared leiwen motifs and scrolled motifs in relief, water leaf lappets above and below, Japanese wood box. NOTE: for a closely related exampled, dated to the mid seventeenth century, see Robert H. Blumenfield, Blanc de Chine, the Great Porcelain of Dehua, Hong Kong, 2002, p. 42, fig. C.
