Artist Biography
Anika Smulovitz is a metalworker and jewelry maker who received her BFA from the University of Oregon in 1997, her MA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2001, and her MFA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2003. Her work—which probes power, beauty, religion, and cultural value through examining adornment and the body—can be found in the collections of The Jewish Museum in New York City and The Barr Foundation. She has been the recipient of many fellowships and awards throughout her career, is a Juried Artisan Member of the Society of American Silversmiths, and is a professor of Jewelry and Metalsmithing at Boise State University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and appears in numerous publications.
