Note
John Campbell was a Knight of the Garter and senior commander of the British Army. He served first on the continent during the Nine Years War, and fought at the Battle of Kaiserwerth during the War of the Spanish Succession. Most famously, he commanded the troops that put down the 1715 Jacobite rebellion. He died in 1743 and his body still remains in Westminster Abbey, not far from Henry VIII.
