A Chinese Jizhou "Phoenix and Floret""paper-resist" teabowl
Southern Song dynasty

Of rounded conical form on low circular foot, the interior decorated with two reddish-brown long-tailed phoenixes in flight between two prunus blossoms, another blossom in the well, all reserved against the finely variegated chocolate brown-veined buff ground, the exterior buff-speckled against a dark brown ground, falling short of a knife-cut edge above the narrow ring foot, cloth box.
