Presented to the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association in 1970.
Acquired by Mary Ellen Brown Watkins (1825-1906) of Alexandria and Falls Church, Virginia, then by descent to her son, John Henry Watkins (1849-1907) of Alexandria, Virginia, thence to his daughter, Elizabeth Watkins Rosson (1883-1977).
