Artist Biography
Philip Cornelius was born in San Bernardino, California in 1934. Cornelius majored in sciene at San Jose State University. He served in the army from 1957-1960. He studied ceramics with Paul Soldner and received his MFA at the Claremont Graduate School in Claremoent, California the 1960s. His works are held in the collections of the Renwick Museum of the Smithsonian Art Museum, the Arizona State University Art Museum, the Everson Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Mint Museum of Craft & Design, the Racine Art Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others.
