The D-shaped top over central cupboard door flanked by two glazed cavetto doors opening to glass shelves, raised on short tapering legs, the central door mounted with a dancing muse over a pair of caryatid figures emerging from tight rocaille scrolls, the reverse of lockplate to central door stamped "DUVIVIER PARIS 77 Ru. ST. ANTOINE", engraved script signature "F. Linke" to side of gilt bronze molding at top.

A similar cabinet in mahogany and tulipwood, bearing identical mounts on the central door, by Alexandre Hugnet, was offered at Christie's New York, October 21, 2008.
Duvivier had workshops on the same street as the cabinetmakers Francois Linke and Emmanuel Zwiener, and his locks appear on several fine cabinets of the period, including examples by Linke and Krieger.
