Heinrich Friedrich von Storch (1766-1835) was a Russian economist whose principle work above is on ofe the first major Russian contributions to economic theory. Drawing on the classical economic theories of Adam Smith, Comte Garnier, and J.B. Say, Storch articulated an original economic doctrine, while also criticizing his predecessors and Smith in particualr. The work is based on courses in political economy Storch gave to Czar Alexander's sons, Nicholas and Michael. Storch was critical of many aspects of Russian life and institutions, especially serfdom, and this work was deemed too liberal for general publication, resulting in its censorship.
The Society of Writers to the Signet is a private society of Scottish solicitors, dating back to 1594.
