A fine and untrimmed copy of British General Cornwallis's acrimonious response to British General Sir Henry Clinton's Narrative of the Campaign of 1781 in North America (1783), in which Clinton attempted to lay the blame for the British defeat at Yorktown on Cornwallis. Cornwallis responds here with a chain of correspondence between him and Clinton during the campaign, used to explain his role in the defeat.
