An unusual Chinese painted pottery rectangular plaque
Han dynasty
With raised outer edge, the center painted with a pair of leonine beasts, bordered by eight fabulous birds and scrolled ornament, within an outer border with scrolled motifs. Accompanied by the results of Oxford Authentication thermoluminescence test #C101t74, dated August 17, 2001, stating the results are consistent with the suggested age of manufacture.
