probably new england, mid 19th century

With brass bail handles at sides, opening to hinged and removable writing surface and drawers, bearing several inscriptions in graphite, including "Brayton, Pa, Mch 13."

Provenance: Property Deaccessioned by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.
Purchased in 1949 by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association from Town and Country Shop Antiques.
