Hermès

The story of Hermès began in 1837 in Paris, when Thierry Hermès developed a saddle and harness workshop, designing equestrian supplies to the noble families of Europe. The family business moved into the fashion world in the early 1900's, when Adolphe and Emile-Maurice Hermès designed haut à courroies bags for storing saddles.

By the 1920's, Hermès patented their zipper, and designed leather handbags and garments for the Prince of Wales. It was around this time that Hermès established itself in New York and across France as a leading manufacturer of quality leather goods.

The name Hermès is widely associated with their two most iconic bags, the Birkin and the Kelly. These bags are made by the same artisan from start to finish, taking approximately 48 hours of labor to complete. They are a perfect example of the artistry and care that goes into Hermès products, boasting an ethos of quality over image.

Today, Hermès is one of the most beloved brands in the fashion industry, manufacturing much more than leather goods. They are widely acclaimed across the globe for their luxury garments, watches, jewelry, accessories, perfumes, and even tablewear.
