First English edition, first printing. 8vo. 311, (1), (4) (ads) pp. Inscribed by Wodehouse to Tommy Brush, son of author Katharine Brush, on front paste-down: "To/Tommy Brush/with best wishes from/an admirer of his/mother's work/P.G. Wodehouse/Nov 1937." Additionally signed by Wodehouse on front free endpaper, and dated 1935. Original blue cloth-covered boards, spine slightly darkened, wear and chipping to spine ends, horizontal tear to cloth at head of spine, cloth of spine torn along rear joint, soiling to front and rear boards, stamped in orange; all edges trimmed; lacking final two ad leaves, rear hinge slightly worn; lacking dust-jacket. McIlvaine A50b.

Katharine Brush (1902-52) was a newspaper columnist, short story writer, and novelist. She was one of the mosts widely read authors of the 1920s and 30s.
