Note: Regulation 35-Star Guidons were contracted by the U.S. Army Quartermaster Department after the admittance of West Virginia in 1863 and used during the final years of the Civil War. 35-Star Guidons continued to be used by U.S. Cavalry regiments during the Indian Wars of the late 1860s and 1870s.
