The rectangular top with hinged keyboard cover, the interior with painted swagged morning glory vines and oval reserve inscribed 'New Patent/ Muzio Clementi & Co./ Cheapside, London,' the top section over a stand with square tapering legs ending in casters, the reverse of top section with stamped numbers "630" and "66," the reverse of stand with stamped number "66."

Muzio Clementi (1752-1832), called the "father of the pianoforte," was an Italian-born piano manufacturer working in London. He absorbed the company Longman & Broderip (active 1776-1798) in 1798.
