The classical form urn decorated to the shoulder with brown and gilt radials and mounted to each side with upraised handles, above a tapering ovoid body finely decorated in cream slip to show a seated classical maiden offering fruit to a chained putti resting atop his cage, the obverse depicting a putti in lion skin resting in window frame; the other urn depicting a maiden raising a switch to a chained putti, the obverse with putti resting on a captain's wheel, the vignettes alternating with gilt and green stylized tendrils below each handle, raised on socle and wide foot encircled by a Greek key border, signed L. Solon, the underside with retailer's mark for A.B. Daniell & Sons, London. (2).

A pair of similar Pompeiian form vases, shape no. 1775, was exhibited at the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition and later sold at Christie's New York, in October 2011.
