Typed letter, signed by Roosevelt, to Anna Sosenko, American songwriter and manager of cabaret singer Hildegarde: "Dear Miss Sosenko: Thank you very much for you letter and for the interesting information you sent me. I like my rooms at the hotel very much and Mr. Lang has been extremely kind and considerate. Very sincerely yours, Eleanor Roosevelt". On Val-Kill Cottage stationery; creasing from original fold. Lot includes a portrait of Roosevelt.
Anna Sosenko (1906-2005) was an American songwriter and manager of cabaret singer Hildegarde, whom Eleanor Roosevelt famously nicknamed the "First Lady of the Supper Clubs." Sosenko wrote Hildegarde's most famous song, "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup".
