Contemporary tree sheep, stamped in gilt, red leather spine label, edges and corners rubbed, front joint starting, spine slightly blistered and chipped, head of spine chipped with headband lost. Old cataloguer's description in pencil on front paste-down; ownership signatures on front paste-down, title-page, p. (1), p. 293 verso, and rear paste-down; ink scrawl at top corner of p. 169.
