Illustrated with frontispiece and four plates. Original pictorial black cloth-covered boards, rubbed, spine faded, stamped in gilt, in blind, olive-green, yellow, with round illustrated paper onlay on front board; all edges trimmed; bottom portion of front free endaper excised, with remnants of erased Wodehouse signature and inscription on remaining upper portion, scattered spotting to text, printer's error on p. 282; in black cloth-covered fall-down-back box.
