A rare Chinese blue and white porcelain warming bowl
Ming dynasty, 16th century

Of hemispherical form with hollow interior, the concave upper surface of the bowl exquisitely painted in shades of rich cobalt blue, depiction a lady of high rank riding a horse with her attendants. Four scholars, humorously portrayed, decorate on the exterior of bowl, underside pierced.
