72 in. x 124 in.Literature: Kevin Keim & Peter Keim, A Grand Old Flag: A History of the United States Through its Flags (2007), 146 & 147.
Note: Montana became the 41st state, November 8, 1989, only six days after the admittance of North Dakota and South Dakota, and was followed three days later by the admittance of Washington State as the 42nd state. This unofficial 41-Star Flag is highly unusual in the scattered arrangement of its stars and rare as it is purportedly one of only two known sewn examples; it is machine-sewn throughout.
