A handsome copy of Tobias Smollett's celebrated English translation of Don Quixote, featuring Francis Hayman's engravings. Smollett's translation is the fifth English-language translation, and is preceded by Thomas Shelton's (1612 and 1620), John Phillips' (1687), Peter Motteux's (1700-03), and Charles Jervas' (1742) editions.
