The cover surmounted by a snail form finial, mounted with a handle in the form of a monkey holding the reins of a cockerel serving as the spout, molded with a foliate medallion to each side of the cobalt ground ovoid body, raised on three splayed feet, the base impressed "Mintons", with date cypher for 1876, registration lozenge and other marks; the teapot impressed with shape number "624".
