Note
The famous elm tree under which William Penn is said to have made a peace agreement with the Lenape Indians stood in the Shackamaxon or Kensington neighborhood north of Philadelphia. It was felled by a storm on March 3, 1810 and greatly mourned. From this tree relics of all sorts were made.
