Partially-printed Girard College for Orphans Treasury document made out to Joseph Cowperthwait, cashier at the Second U.S. Bank, for A.D. Bache (future president of Girard College), for $2,000; signed by Nicholas Biddle, as president of the Board of Trustees for Girard; two cancellations holes at center.
Girard College was founded three years prior to this document, in 1833.
