The slant front revealing fitted interior, over three graduated drawers, molded base on shaped bracket feet; sold together with a needlework sampler, worked with polychrome threads on linen ground, depicting alphabet above inscription, "Willminah G. Rockafelow/ was born Oct 8th 1833/ Finished July/ 19th 1844," surrounded by birds, flowers, flower basket, and hearts, meandering vine border, framed.

Note
The Rockafellar family came from a long line of German immigrants who settled in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in the early 18th century. The family name had alternate spellings, including Rockafeller and Rockafellow. Wilhelmina G. Rockafellow was born in 1833 to William S. Rockafellow and Catherine M. Emmons, and was married to William B. Dilts (1826-1873).
