A handsome example of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's poster advertising the design firm, Artisan Moderne. Founded by publisher and designer André Marty, Artisan Moderne specialized in limited edition decorative objects, home furnishings, and jewelry. Depicting a scene parodying a doctor's visit, this poster shows a craftsman from the firm dressed as a doctor, tool-box in hand (modeled after Lautrec's friend, the medalist Henri Nocq) entering the bedroom of a wealthy and reclined Parisienne, much to the shock of the maid in the background.
