Circa 1635. Etching on laid paper. New Hollstein's second state (of four), a good impression, showing some wear in the densely hatched areas, the paper in good condition but with several novel printer’s creases throughout, including a circular embossed area encompassing the entire image area and a strong horizontal line across the lower sixth of the image; three additional smaller printer’s creases along the sheet edges at lower left and center right. Possibly a trial impression to ascertain potential cutting of the plate to various new shapes or sizes.

Sheet size: 4 5/8 x 4 3/8 in. (11.7 x 11.1cm)
