Artist Biography
Fred Bauer was born in Memphis, Tennesse in 1937. He received his BFA from the Memphis Academy of Art in 1962 and MFA from the University of Washington in 1964. He was an artist at the Archie Bray Foundation in 1962. He has served on the faculty at the University of Michigan, the Aztec Mountain Museum of Craft, and the University of Washington. In addition to the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Craft, his works can be found in the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse and the St. Paul Gallery and School of Art.
