Artist Biography
Irv Tepper was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1947. He received his B.F.A. from Kansas City Art Institute in 1969 and his M.F.A. from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1971. A sculptor, draftsman, and photographer, Tepper has exhibited extensively throughout the United States and internationally in both solo and group exhibitions. Past exhibitions of Tepper’s work include the Kunstmuseum, Bern, Switzerland; the St. Louis Museum of Art, St. Louis, Missouri; the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO; and the Renwick Gallery, National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. His work is held extensively in museum collections, including the Los Angeles County Museum, Los Angeles, California; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts; and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England.
