At Freeman’s, we make every effort to ensure that buying at our auctions is as easy and efficient as possible while ensuring the safety of our employees and our clients during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our departmental specialists and client services representatives are always available to assist you at every stage of the buying process by phone or email in order to respect social distancing guidelines.

We provide three ways to help you gather as much information as possible about a lot before placing a bid:

  • Browse lots online at and view the auction’s e-catalogue.
  • Submit a request for a condition report either through the online lot listing, or by getting in touch with the specialist directly.
  • If you require more information, (virtual) consultations with our specialists are available. They are on-hand to answer any questions you might have.

How to Register & Bid

Freemans offers multiple bidding methods to suit your personal preference and availability. In addition to placing absentee bids, you can bid and buy live from any of our auctions either online or over the phone. We ask that all requests be submitted no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.

Online Registration & Bidding with Freeman's LIVE

Participate in any of our auctions from your desktop or smartphone through our complimentary online bidding platform, Freeman’s LIVE.  Once your registration has been approved, you will be able to watch the auctions, place absentee bids, and bid live during the sale.

Freeman’s auctions are also hosted on two alternative bidding platforms: Invaluable and Live Auctioneers. Clients are welcome to bid through these platforms but please note that bids placed through Invaluable or Live Auctioneers are subject to additional fees charged by the platform for their services. If you bid through Freeman’s Live, however, you will not be charged additional fees beyond our standard buyer’s premium.

Telephone & Absentee Registration

Telephone and absentee bids can be placed by completing the bidder registration form and submitting it to Client Services via email to Absentee bids can also be submitted through your online account accessed from our website. Prior to the auction, our Client Services Representative will call or email you to confirm receipt of your absentee & telephone bids. Please note that telephone bidding is available for select sales only.

  • Absentee Bidding—The auctioneer will execute the bid on your behalf.
  • Telephone Bidding—On the day of the sale, Freeman’s will call you and bid with you over the phone as if you were in the saleroom.

Payment & Pickup

You will be emailed an invoice for the total amount of your purchases. This amount will include the hammer price, the buyer’s premium as well as any applicable taxes. Payment is due within ten (10) days of the sale. You will also receive payment and shipment instructions along with a list of preferred shippers we work with during the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a result of the current coronavirus situation, please be aware that delivery and shipments of property will be delayed. During the delays, we will store your property free of charge. Successful buyers should use the below portal to schedule an appointment with Megan Latona.
