Laura Cox Modelski serves as Senior Appraiser and Manager of the Appraisals Department. She is an accredited appraiser in general household contents. She specializes in preparing fair market value appraisals for estate tax and planning purposes and well as insurance appraisals for clients of all types. 

Cox Modelski joined Freeman’s in 2012 as a member of the exhibition staff and as an Americana Department intern. Over the past eight years, she worked her way from Appraisals Coordinator to Associate Appraiser to Appraiser. She was recently named Senior Appraiser and Manager of the Appraisals Department and oversees the department’s day-to-day operations. 

She has been interested in art since an early age and pursued degrees in studio art and art history at McDaniel College and Maryland Institute College of Art, and later received her master’s degree from the University of Delaware. While in school, she held positions at several galleries including The Delaware Contemporary and University of Delaware’s exhibition space at Crane Arts. Cox Modelski is a member of the International Society of Appraisers and an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America. She is also a member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council, the Loudoun Estate Planning Council, and the Estate Planning Council of Delaware.
