Patricia Dillon serves as a regional representative in the South Carolina area. She is the president of Putnam Art Advisors & Consultants, Inc. where she advises high-net-worth individuals, corporations, artists, and museums in the purchase, sale, and management of fine and decorative arts. She is a certified appraiser in American decorative arts. Dillon is an adjunct professor of art history at the College of Charleston where she teaches several classes including the Fine and Decorative Arts of Charleston, Art Law, Nazi-Looted Art, the Looting and Return of Artwork in a Global Context and multiple courses exploring the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat. She was recently named a fellow to the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. 
 
For ten years, Dillon taught at New York University’s Appraisal Certificate Program and other graduate studies. Her classes included Art Law, American Furniture, American Folk Art, 20th-Century Decorative Arts, and Southern Painting and Decorative Arts. At NYU, she was an advisor to students seeking Fulbright scholarships. Previously, Dillon was an attorney litigating a number of cases to verdict. Her work included cases of authenticity, artists’ rights, and art-related contracts. She has published several articles on American furniture and the history of fashion. Dillon has also lectured at Harvard Law School, Sotheby’s, the American Historical Association, the Costume Society of America, the Appraisers Association of America, Middleton Place, the English-Speaking Union, and the American Institute of Conservation.
