Exhibitions on the Main Line | Water Ways: A Greater Philadelphia Region Artist Installation
Water is a profound source of inspiration for many. This uplifting collection of works curated by Lauren Anrig Addis features Philadelphia regional artists, who explore the influence, movement and refreshing nature of water as we approach the summer season. Artists include Rita Siemienski Smith, Sandra Benhaim, Kirby Fredendall, Pia De Girolamo and Gail Morrison-Hall.
Water Ways: A Greater Philadelphia Region Artist Installation will be available for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting several charities including; Fred’s Footsteps: a local non-profit that provides financial relief to hard-working families in the Philadelphia region who find themselves in a crisis due to the costs associated with caring for a seriously ill, injured, or disabled child. Additionally, proceeds will benefit InLiquid, a non-profit organization committed to creating opportunities and exposure for visual artists while serving as a free, online, public hub that showcases Philadelphia’s vast visual arts culture.
Featured artist - Rita Siemienski Smith is inspired by the peaceful, beautiful and spiritual qualities of man and nature. In this selection of work, waterways experienced while traveling are the idea references. Color and line create surface patterns and textures on paper and canvas, using watercolor, oil or acrylic as medium. Imagination, inspiration and invention produce the painting while intuition completes the process.
