Freeman 's is Proud to Present Property from the Reed & Barton Archives

Freeman 's has been selected to auction property from the Reed & Barton Archives on November 11, 2015. The collection represents the earliest periods of the factory 's production through the twentieth century and will be offered in Freeman 's autumn American Furniture, Folk & Decorative Arts including Property from the Reed & Barton Archives sale. Pewter tea sets from the 1830s, original silver drawings and designs, fine sterling silver and plated wares, extensive samples of the surgical tools the company manufactured for the US Army in World War II, and the original samples of the medals made for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games are some of the items being offered in this notable auction.The most significant work is the monumental important and historic “Progress Vase” exhibited at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876 (pictured). This masterpiece, designed by W.C. Beattie, earned the company the Centennial 's Medal of Excellence.
