Absentee: Before the auction day, submit your highest bid, which the auctioneer will execute on your behalf.

Online: Create an account and participate in real time via our online bidding platform Freeman's LIVE.

Our auctions are also hosted on two other platforms, Invaluable and LiveAuctioneers.

Each successful bid constitutes a binding contract for the bidder. Once the auction is over, Client Services will send an invoice for the total to an email address on file. The total for each lot includes hammer price + buyer's premium + applicable sales tax.

During the Auction

The auctioneer typically opens each lot at half its low estimate. Subsequent bidding follows these increments during the auction:

$25 until $500 is reached

$50 until $1,000 is reached

$100 until $2,000 is reached

$200 until $3,000 is reached

$250 until $5,000 is reached

$500 until $10,000 is reached

$1,000 until $20,000 is reached

$2,000 until $30,000 is reached

$2,500 until $50,000 is reached

$5,000 until $100,000 is reached

Over $100,000 auctioneer's discretion.

*There may be instances in which an item is protected by a reserve and cannot be sold below that value. Reserves cannot exceed low estimate and are not reveled to the public.

Buyer's Premium

A buyer's premium will be added to the successful bid price and is payable by the buyer as part of the total purchase price. The buyer's premium is 25% on the first $300,000 of the hammer price of each lot; 20% on the portion from $300,001 through $3,000,000; and 12% thereafter.

Payment is due within ten (10) days of the sale. You will also receive payment and shipment instructions along with a list of preferred shippers we work with during the Covid-19 pandemic.
